Thursday, May 12th, 2011Recently, my laptop was infected with a rogue virus, which froze all my computer applications and left me unable to work on my sideline; I was so worried that I would have to reformat it and lose all of my files in the process with no back up whatsoever. I did not really know what to do but thought my laptop would need a pci scan or any scan at all just to get it to work again; I was happy that that I followed advice on the net and downloaded a free anti malware application that removed the rogue virus easily without the need to reformat everything. The reason why my laptop got infected in the first place was because I accidentally opened an email which was not meant for me; it was during a time when I was so sleepy so I was not able to check clearly if the email was addressed to me and as I clicked it open, my computer hanged. In the beginning I acted calmly, figuring out what was wrong or at least trying to, but later on I gave in to panic especially when none of my applications worked anymore; I almost broke down in tears due to the fact that I was unsure if I would be able to make it through without using my laptop and also if I would be able to finish my part time work. I am glad that I decided to file for a leave even on such short notice and went with my friends to Camotes for the weekend to relax after all that stress and when we returned from that short break, we felt refreshed and ready to work again.

Despite the best intentions of agencies and consultants, social media integration is bound to meet huge resistance until top management says it is OK to spend time and money to integrate it into the companys marketing and culture.
