Thursday, January 19th, 2012I love dogs and I already have two dogs now. One of the dogs is a mix and the other one is a pure bred dog, but the thing is, the dogs are not really my type of dogs. I love the bigger breeds because their barks are very loud and they are very good deterrent against thieves and other bad elements who might want to go in the house; that’s why I love to own a big dog. I want my dogs to help protect the house from bad people who want to break in. I saw that there was a German Shepherd Puppies For Sale sign in my neighbor’s gate while I was walking near their house. When I saw that sign, I immediately ran to our house to get my money. I just wanted to make sure that I would be able to buy one of the puppies as soon as I could. I was really happy when the sign was placed there; I really wanted to have big dog and now that there are puppies of one of the most famous breeds there are, I am blown away. It was sad to know that the puppies had already been sold to other people and so I lost the chance; chances are they just placed the ad too long. It’s a good thing that there are other breeders out there, especially in the internet. I tried to search for the key words that I wanted and I have been able to see some of the millions who are willing to sell puppies like golden retrievers, Dalmatians, and other bigger breeds. I want to love my dogs that I have right now because they are so cute and all, but then, when I have the chance, I will still go for big dogs.

Sunday, January 15th, 2012I am so elated with everything that has been going on with my flower shop, but it is my boyfriend who did it all, we actually opened just a couple of months back but sales went sky rocketing right away. He got a call center outsourcing firm to do the promotions and marketing most especially the taking of orders, it really did wonders for us. Believe me I tell you that I only have one assistant, a delivery guy and myself running the whole store, walk in customers also come in but it is few and far in between. But the dough actually comes from the orders made through the web, the daily operations actually starts with the call center receiving orders both through the web and from phone calls. They coordinate with us through a secure program that updates automatically every time an order is posted, it is simple, effective and very efficient, I cannot imagine having to manage a lot of people crowding my store with order slips and all. And you know how it is in a flower shop, it is hard to keep it clean with all the cutting and pruning of flowers and leaves. As far funds go, contrary to peoples beliefs, our contract with the outsourcing firm costs much less than hiring employees, in addition to the equipments that come along and a viable place to position them inside the store. We are in our sixth month and we are now considering on opening another shop in the city, expanding is not tacky or too costly for us since our marketing arm does not need to transfer nor do we need to pay extra. With all the wonderful things we experienced in working together with a call center firm I believe more businesses will join the bandwagon.

I am very excited to watch the movie that my friend, Divine, shared to me but I felt sad after I played the file because it was never work so I looked the file type but it is not compatible with any player I had at home. My friends advised me that I can start a small business and that it is so easy to do that. I just needed to do some stuff that I needed to be in place like my concept and my capital; the products that I needed to have and offer the market and other important things. I really wanted to start my business right away so I had to borrow money and have a few small business loans. Companies do offer generous sum of money for small entrepreneurs and they do this to help promote entrepreneurship, of course after a series thorough background checks. Once the application for loan is completed and approved, the money is released to the applicant right away. I advise that you look for a mentor who can guide you on making the right business decisions and help you avoid pitfalls. I’m sharing this part of me because when I was just a child I was taught that I should study hard, get good grades, land a good job, retire and then die; I just accepted that because that was what I was told to do. At least that’s what was shown to me by my elders; and I don’t blame them because that’s the system that they grew up with. I was shown a new way by my friends when I finally finished studying and they were quite successful. They showed me that there are actually many systems in place and that I can change the course of my future. You can always build your business big when you start small; so don’t be too impatient but learn all you can.

Thursday, January 12th, 2012Tim, my good friend is one of the geekiest person one might have met but he also happens to be a really funny dude whom you could hang around with outside the campus or at any party where some of our type of nerds and geeks would come out of their basements or company server rooms for and mix it up with one another to discuss the latest phone technology or compare notes on their favorite multi player online role playing games. Tim works as a sysad for an Internet startup which was borne out of a university campus and still struggles to make a dent in the current market place but remains optimistic that one day, people would take notice and they would start pouring there money in. The nature of work for a systems administrator like Tim means that instead of going out on Friday and weekend nights, he will spend most of the time in front of a computer monitor to check on the performance of the servers during the busiest times of the week. Whenever Tim gets a chance to party, however, he is always a beacon of sunshine in whatever geeky party he happens to join with his crazy antics and geeky jokes which normal people might find tedious and boring but have the craziest appeal to share the same tendencies as many of us who find comics like The Oatmeal hilariously funny. The best joke that he pulled on us, as far as I can remember, was when Tim came to the party hosted by my best friend, Ishmael, wearing a scarlett johansson wolf tshirt and people still continue to talk about that until this day.
